I breast feed my 7 dolls and take care of them like real babies – I don’t care what the haters think

She is doing the chest she can.

Kelly Cunningham always wanted to be a mom — but without a baby of her own, the New York native is breastfeeding her dolls.

The Ronkonkoma resident bought a reborn doll for her 27th birthday and says she quickly felt her maternal instincts.

“I just can’t help but want to take care of Jennifer like a real baby,” Cunningham, now 29, told Caters of her beloved, lifelike doll. “I can’t explain how it happened, but I suddenly became so attached to her that I spent that week buying her clothes and eventually her bed that sits next to the end of my bed in my room.”

She bought a reborn doll – “incredibly lifelike baby dolls” for her 27th birthday and soon felt her maternal instincts.

“My dad explained to me that it’s normal to have that desire to be a parent now that I’m in my late 20s, so I didn’t question why I loved these dolls as much as real kids,” she. continued.

Cunningham isn’t the only one who gets emotionally attached to dolls. Reborn dolls are known to be used as a form of therapy to provide a sense of comfort and connection to people struggling with infertility, infant loss or dementia.

Over the past few years, Cunningham has continued to add to her collection and now cares for seven reborn dolls.

Although she’s been doing research in the Reborn community, the doll’s mom has upset some with her caregiving tactics — especially pretending to breastfeed.

“I did my research with the Reborn community, so I knew breastfeeding a doll was disgusting,” she said. “In hindsight, I should have kept it to myself because I drove a lot of people crazy by admitting it.”

“The way I see it, it’s just a doll that I’m nursing. I never understood why a woman’s breasts are so sexual that it’s disgusting to talk about it. If I was nursing a real baby, no one would it meant nothing so why are people so mad because i admitted to breastfeeding?

For her “older” baby dolls, Cunningham concocts fake formula, as she says real baby formula in the Reborn community is “a big no-no.”

The millennial woman was also familiar with role-playing, as she has been cosplaying for 14 years. She loved taking care of Jennifer so much that she continued to expand her collection. Kelly Cunningham / CATERS NEWS

Cunningham herself has been dressing up in various costumes – known as cosplay – for more than a decade. She recently decided to dress up her dolls as well.

“I remember having the idea maybe two months ago now to start doing both Reborn TikToks and Cosplay TikToks. With my first Reborn videos, I didn’t want to cheat her, but I had a feeling that the videos would make me more viral than my Cosplay TikToks,” she enthused.

“Since I was little, I dreamed of becoming famous for something. I have always dreamed of success.”

The longtime cosplayer finally had the idea to introduce her dolls to the world of costume play.

Cunningham’s Reborn dolls have helped her achieve this. She currently has 23.7k followers on TikTok – @rebornmomof7 – where she shares videos of herself taking care of dolls and connecting with the Reborn community.

However, it’s harder to avoid the judgmental stares and rude whispers when she’s out with dolls in real life.

“When I’m out in public with my dolls, people stare at me until I’m out of sight. It started when I walked Jen to the park 30 minutes away so I could continue to lose weight,” she admitted. I saw everyone in their cars looking at me and I felt bad for myself at first.”

However, boosted by her social media fame, Cunningham has found confidence.

“When I’m in public,” she explained, “I don’t care what people think anymore
